Join museum educator Julia Erdosy for a guided meditation in the serene atmosphere of the Museum’s medieval cloister. This evocative space is inspired by the thirteenth-century cloister at the Abbey of Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines in southwestern France, and features a mix of original medieval elements and modern additions.
In the Middle Ages, cloisters served both practical and spiritual purposes. They connected key monastic buildings, like the church and chapter house, acting as a bridge between mundane and religious obligations. As a historical third place, the Museum's cloister still offers people a balance between communal gathering and personal contemplation. This peaceful courtyard now invites you to slow down, tune in, and reconnect.
